2011 Dream

Prologue : Been a passionate follower like many of us since my childhood. It was appropriate for me to start my 1^st blog on the game which has been so dear to me.

At an another ICC championship India has limped out tamely. Vociferous analysts have started raising concern about IPL being the culprit. Is it really true? Do we uphold this naïve excuse. Playing in IPL for 15 matches over a span of 45 days is the cause of team exceptionally poor performance. Let us get it clear T20-20 is a mere 40 over game which lasts for 4 hours. What could have been better practice than being part of IPL. At the end is there any practice fruitful than playing the game itself I wonder

We as sport lovers might worship the game of cricket and its players. But we do understand the nuances’ of it. We demand and have right to do the same is a competitive performance by our sportsmen at the world stage. Concern which looms over an abide Indian is not that our team hasn’t won any trophy lately but gospel of team not qualifying to the latter stages of any tournament. When one has a glance at those staggering statistics .It spells omen to say the least.

As soon as we lose a quest for scapegoat begins. We create a havoc start sacking coach, captain or campaigns like ban IPL, endorsements etc .This short sighted approach of ours is cause of perilous situation we are facing. We have to be honest that our way of approaching the game of cricket it isn’t the best way. Haste must be our decisions from now on. Collaborate and swift must be our actions. Things would remain a status-co in not doing so.

T20-20 might be a different ball game altogether compared with ODI. Playing conditions will be substantially diverse. We can’t be oblivion to teams timid and lame performance in recent champions trophy held in India. Its due time that we take cohesive measures and a built a team which performs when it matters at the world stage. We had to wait for 24 years for our 2^nd glory but vibrant and new India is much more demanding. We are dreaming of glory being back when world cup is held in India’2011. But our Indian team continuous lackluster performance is a grovel we no longer can be oblivious.
